305 TPI to carb
OK, started out with an 85 TPI 305 in a Trans Am, switched to a 600cfm Edlebrock carb, did I gain horsepower and torque or lose it? as of right now its sitting on a stock gm intake. Stayed with stock cam and heads since I plan to later drop in a 350, but I want to drive it around a little bit so the 305 is staying in until next winter.

Re: 305 TPI to carb
If I had to guess, you probably lost performance. You definatly lost fuel efficiency, and probably drivabily as well.
On the other hand, your now able to adjust your engine tune with a screwdriver and a wrench. It will make the 350 swap easier, and you'll have a lot less wires (clutter)under the hood.
Your not gonna see any gain until you put the 350 in (if ur not gonna do anything else to ur 305) and especially if you haven't addressed the exhaust issue with at least some shorty headers.
