I have an '86 IROC with really screwy windshield wipers. The switch is tempermental, it wont work on high, it wont turn off sometimes
and doesn't work properly.

I'm pretty sure I need a new switch.

The wipers only have a high and low, no cruise or anything else so I don't know what part I need. Does anyone know what kind of wiper settings an original '86 IROC came with??

I've seen a number of different switches on ebay and they all say its compatable but they all look different. It's tough because I'm away at school so I cant really see whats going on and my dad is far from an electrician and has never done anything with 3rd gen camaros.

Go to a car parts store or a GM dealer and say you need a wiper switch for an 86 Iroc Z28 and they'll give you the right part. But if it won't work on high and has phantom issues I would seek out the ground first and make sure it's intact and not green.
