86 Z28 HELP!!!!!!
Okay so I thought the problem was fixed but now I know better being that my 86 Z28 is a paperweight currently!!!! I was headed home when all of a sudden the entire driver side of my muffler blew off the car died and now will not start she wants to turn over but can't seem to so any suggestions of what to do would be appreciated!!!!! I just got her out of the shop a week ago for a timing issue and to me she seems to be acting the same as before!!!!! She was backfiring into the MAFS just before I pulled over and she destroyed herself!!!!!

Re: 86 Z28 HELP!!!!!!
Check spark, fuel pressure and injector pulse. From the sound of things, your ignition dropped spark for several revolutions and your exhaust filled up with raw fuel, then spark came back and ignited the raw fuel. It sort of turns your exhaust into a pipe bomb. Check for an issue with your ignition system. I bet you will find you have no spark. Or that you have poor an intermittent connection at your ignition coil. Read the HEI description and follow the diagnosis procedures outlined towards the bottom of the page in my "wiring diagrams" thread on the Electronics forum.
If you find no trouble with your ignition, suspect lost cam timing as in broken timing chain.
