Little smoke coming from inside of the car?

There's smoke coming from the inside the car. Very little smoke that it's hard to tell where it comes from but it seems to be coming from under the shift boot. There is a burnt smell but I'm horrible at being able to tell what it smells like. Can anyone tell me what are the possible things that could be causing this?

Until I verified that it's NOT electrical, I'd disconnect a battery cable - might have a fire!
