car wont start.

i have power coming out of my coil when the key is ON. but no power comes out to the spark plugs. im finishing my engine swap still, its been 2 months almost because of this problem. the new motor is a 305 H.O. out of an 86 el camino (carb). my old motor was in my 91 fbird (305tbi). i believe im not getting fuel because im not smelling it, but i hvnt checked it out yet because iv been so focused on my ignition. i taltked to my shop instrucer and he thinks the new motor doesnt hv a crank position sensor because it was carbed, and that my car nees a crank position sensor for the fuel injection tbi.is this correct, if so can i take the crank position sensor out of my old engine and how do i install it?? please reply if you have any idea, im seriously lost

Re: car wont start.

There isn't any crank position sensor in either motor, so that's not the issue.

So, basically you're using the 1986 motor/heads with all the computer controlled TBI stuff on it right?
