Still backfiring from carb
Hey guys i am back and still have the same problem
Here is the deal, have the 83 camaro vin # H, 305 carb yada yada yada.
Well a few weeks ago my father and brother checked the timing on the car and said that it was timed right. I would have no clue if they are correct but they seemed to know what they were doing since they have done it before on different cars. i let it set up until today as i was just let down in the dumps with it from all the problems i have been running into, and i have confirmed that all the plug wires are ran correctly as of 10 minutes ago.
My problem before was the ignition control module that blew when i changed out the distributor cap and rotor, well i changed the coil out at first thinking that was the problem. no fire then changed the ignition control module and it started, then backfired like crazy and eventually died. it is not a mislead plug wire since i have just checked it and the ignition control module was changed to get it up and running. could i have possibly purchased a lemon of either the coil or the ignition control module? also it is not the cap and rotor since i replaced it with the stock one after this issue happened (however didnt change out the coil back to stock). Correct me if i am wrong but having a bad coil the car wouldn't start right? also there are two wires that came undone (green and yellow i believe) next to the rotor that connects to the ignition control module labeled N and P, i replaced them back to my best knowledge but am not 100% sure those are connected correctly, could this be the problem if those two wires are crossed? (i dont want to switch those wires out just incase of a short happens again and blows everything leading to my ignition) Thanks for reading and any information will be greatly appreciated, or even pictures of the ignition control module and wires connected to it would be great. Thanks again. Coty
Well i figured it out, it was the N and P wires crossed... i feel like such an idiot now lol. thanks anyways guys and gals. im sure i will be back with more problems in the near future lol. Please close this thread any mod.
