Questions on mounting in tank pump - O'Reilly pump seems too small?

I am converting to an in tank pump. I have the fuel injected hanger/sending unit assembly minus pump. I bought a new fuel pump from O'Reilly.
Looking at the fuel pump from O'Reilly, the diameter looks significantly smaller than the 1/2 circle shaped cradle coming off the return line that it appears that it should be clamped to. The pump looks correct length wise, has a 3/8" outlet that matches the metal line fuel feed line, and the electrical connector matches. Do I have the wrong pump, or are the aftermarket pumps smaller diameter than the stock pump?

If I can use the O'Reilly pump, do I just let it hang by the 3/8" outlet and the strainer support at the end of the hanger, or do I need to do something to clamp it so the body of the pump is supported?

Last, is there a special rubber connector to connect the pump to the metal line or do I just use 3/8" ID fuel line

Thanks in advance.
