Sounds like a miss at WOT

Ok folks here is the engine and tranny:
305 edelbrock performer intake no egr, edelbrock 600 1406 electric choke, adjustable vacuum advance summit dist, everything else is stock and disconnected air pump, built 700r4 tranny with 4th gear locking torque converter stock stall.

Problem: at a very light part throttle car runs great and pulls great, but at anything over say 1/4 to a 1/3 throttle it bogs and sounds like a misfire but not quite a misfire, at crusing speeds the car runs fine until I want to put the hammer down to pass then it has no power until I let up on the pedal then all of the sudden it has power again and when i slowly push the pedal down the car does fine even at WOT.

Please help I am kinda stuck I am not sure if i have to much vacuum advance or if i need to do carb work.

inital timing is set at 10deg.
I don't have the means to test full advance with vacuum and mech.

I have been trying to use the instructions from summit for the vacuum advance tuning, but I just can't seem to tell if that is actually doing anything to the timing.
