Fuel filling problem

I'm having a hell of a time putting gas in the car. From nearly empty to almost half full, it will not accept refilling any faster than a trickle with constant belching out of the filler neck. Once it gets about half full, it's a little better but nothing like it was before the ENTIRE fuel system was replaced.
New tank from Spectre.
Replacement sending unit from a forum remember.
All fuel lines replaced.
New filters.
I've checked the relief valve near the tank. Seems to operating ok but that's for letting air in, not out. The vent line to the vapour canister is open (no canister yet).
About the only thing I can think of is that the vent line in the sending unit is obstructed in some way. I haven't done a compressed air test yet.
Anyone have a similar problem and a solution?

Re: Fuel filling problem

turn the handle so the nozzle is sort of pointing at the right front tire.

instead of handle point down at 6oclock, point it at 9.

had similar problems with a new tank on my V8 car, got the tip for a guy with a different car then mine, yet it still worked. [Even after enlarging the sending unit vent hole.]

Dunno what it does, but I can fill up much easier.

I've tried different angles with the nozzle with limited results. It's a little better using the method you've described but it's still a pain in the ***.
I'll have to look into the vent tube like you did.

When I pulled the pick up and tried to blow through the vent line with my mouth, I found it was hard. I then pryed off that shield they put over it and hogged it out vent line size. [V8 Carb pick up, not FI]

Then above the tank I made a double loop trap [like a sink trap] and put a filter on the end. so if anything did make it into the line, its going to want to drain back or will get stuck in the loop. But I was pissed that it was a strugle to get in just half a tank of gas and went drastic on it.

That and the pointing of the tip, I can now put it in till it comes out the neck.
