i have a built 350 with a cam an a hei distributor on it and im getting weak spark for some reason she wants to fire but once you get her started she just falls on her face and has a hard time just getting started its a brand new motor zero miles its in my 91 camaro im not sure what the problem is i rigged the distributor up to make sure it worked before i put it in the car its used and i got a nice blue spark on a spark tester but she still doesnt want to fire

 

Do you get some sort of ignition spark from your HEI distributor? You could either have a problem with 12Volt supply saturating the coil or a problem with the condenser. Do you have a CDI box firing the coil? If you dont want to invest in an MSD box and you do have a spark except it is not strong enough then you could try a HEI distributor spark amplification system.
