305 head gasket replacement ???
I'm pretty sure my girl blew a head gasket on the passenger side. She drove it hot till it wouldn't start anymore. Now I have a leaking freeze plug and I cant keep the engine from getting hot. Noticed smoke coming from rear of pass. head area. About how long should it take to replace the head gasket and what else should I have to do or check while I'm in there?

I'd say at least 8 hours if you don't take any breaks and know what to do. Drain all the fluids, remove the whole intake, remove the accessories from that side of the front of the engine and ground wires from the rear, get the head off, clean off all the old gasket material (that will take a lot longer than you think..), reinstall head and get it torqued down right, reinstall the pushrods and rocker arms, reinstall the intake...
BUT.
If it got that hot, the head might be warped. I'd pull it and take it to a machine shop to check it. No point in changing the gasket if its warped, its not going to seal anyways. And if you're taking it to a machine shop, its not going to be a one day project.
