Ok,
I want my car to go faster
... who doesnt
Here's what I'm starting with:
I have a pretty dang stock 350 GM Goodwrench crate engine. Heres whats been done to it. I have hooker super comp shorty headers hooked up to a 3 inch y pipe, to a 3" straight pipe back to the muffler. It has a HEI distributor vac advance, holley 750 street avenger, and a performer intake. The heads were rebuilt (iron heads that came with the GM Goodwrench engine). I have not touched the cam, I've never changed a cam before.
So what kind of options do I have to do to my car w/o pulling the motor that can help performance wise for around 400$ ish range???
Also I'm buying subframe connectors from alston cause I've heard that's one thing these third gens need...
Thanks,
-Evan

Re: Got some money that needs spending :)
SFCs help a ton. These cars are unibody and they connect the front and rear frame rails. Cams are normally little more cashy than they appear as you need to buy antifreeze, gaskets, etc, and new springs to support the new lifts depending on what you go with. 400 isn't going to cover a nitrous kit as that's basically the price of the kit with no extras and an empty bottle. I'd go for reallocation brackets for the rear control arms, wonderbar if you don't have one, and throw the rest at a set of nice roller rockers. Rallocations brackets help if you're lowered or you are experiencing wheel hops off the line.

That's good advice, but if you must put it in the engine, then I'd start with a set of #416 heads, cut for stainless 1.94" valves, 3 angle plus a 75 degree bowl cut, and stainless exhaust valves, too. That should get you from 8:1 up to 9.5:1.
I know that it's sold as 8.5:1, but it isn't so. Some years ago a shop took one apart, and measured everything. with a composite 0.028" GM head gasket, it had 7.8:1.
