Axle/Gears: 2:73 open
What physically made the HO 5.0 different from regular 5.0?Can I make a reg 5.0 a HO?

What phisically made the HO 5.0 diferent from the reg. 5.0? I know that the HO motor put out 20 more HP but 15 less tq. What was it that made it different? Is there a way to convert a regular L03 5.0 to a HO?

The only motor (among 305s) that "HO" actually meant anything, was the L69 carbed one. By the time TBI came out it was just a buzzword and meant nothing.

WHile it's possible to turn a LG4 into a L69, it's not a very productive exercise; you can get ALOT more results for ALOT less money and trouble by going some other route. But, the L69 cars have advantages, as a car; better gears for example.
