A/C High Pressure Switch
I totally screwed up. When I recently recharged my A/C system with new mineral oil and R-12, I noticed the compressor was running constantly. I thought I may overfilled it with oil (which could still be the case) but then the bulb went on in my head.
When I converted my car to a serpentine system from the former V-belt system, the newer compressor didn't have the high pressure switch from my older unit but a plug with the same hold down ring. I just went ahead and swapped the plug for my old switch since it was still good. Well then the oil began to leak out.
Reading as much as I could on here and looking at my 1987 Camaro service manual, I should have replaced the O ring that is in that small cavity where the swtich goes and the hold down ring. So I basically f***** up. Now, I have to order a new switch which luckily comes with a new O ring and hold down ring and an evaporator tube orifice. So the fun begins in obtaining R-12 again and more mineral oil.

Re: A/C High Pressure Switch
While looking to buy a replacement orifice for the A/C system, there are three listed on the A/C Delco place where I normally buy my stuff and also at O'Reilly's.
There is the OEM one, another that is auto adjusting for outside temps under 105 degrees and one that is auto adjusting for outside temps above 105 degrees. Has anyone purchased the self adjusting ones? Or just stick with OEM?
