Radiator fan switch, help guys!! please....
Radiator fan switch, help guys!! please....
hey fellas, i threw out the old 305 fuel injected tpi motor and just dropped a carburated 383 engine into my 89 Iroc. I also removed the stock harnass which controls a ton of electrical stuff i presume. my question, is how do i give power to the radiator fan switch now? also, just as important, WHERE is the switch? any general ideas?
thanks people

well i just hooked up a toggle switch to my battery, ran it through the whole in the fire wall where the hood popper runs through, and ran it to the fan wires which should be black and red for positive, then ran the other to a good place of ground. ik how much easier it would be to have a electrical thermostat wire
kick it on for you, but you can get a kit that does all that for you by sticking it in to the radiator fins, (sensor) and hooking it all up to the battery or w.e you prefer.

i also forgot to mention my switch lights up in the dash, when i forget to turn it on. When i turn the key on it lights up. Light up toggle, that has three prongs, i simply ran both recieving female and male positives to the switch, (one to positive battery post, then the positive to the fan) and then this third prong had my curiousity. So i hooked it up to my fuse box, where i took the gauges fuse out and rapped the spliced wire around the fuse prong, and the wire ran to the third prong on the switch.. Reason why? I knew that the ignition controlled these gauges, so thus i have a reminder. The light turns off when keys off and the fan is off. But if you leave the fan on, the light will stay on. Hope i didnt confuse ya

No switch needed , no warning lights needed , nothing to think about
