question re: spark plugs on 83 Z28 CFI
I am new here and please pardon my lack of tech knowledge re: the mechanics of my Z28. I am trying to learn all I can... I am having a slight rough idol on my 82 Z CFI. From what I am reading this is common. I was thinking about having the spark plugs changed to see if that would help out. The idol is only slightly rough but I would like it better. So my questions are:
what kind of spark plugs were used in 83 (AC Delco, Bosch)?
Can I get the current original plugs cleaned or re-configured somehow?
Is it possible to find NOS plugs from 83 for a CFI?
If so, are any different than the TPI systems?
See, my car is 100% original. it only has 23k miles on it. it is perfect in every way. I want to stay true to it and keep it 100% original. Sorry if my question does not make total sense. Im learning here... Thanks so much I appreciate the help.

Re: question re: spark plugs on 83 Z28 CFI
They were almost certainly AC Delco plugs from the factory. Just go to a local parts store and tell them what car/engine you've got and they'll get you what you need. If you're trying to make it absolutely dead-nuts stock with assembly line plugs I can't help you. If it was me, I'd rather give up some originality to get it running right.
You can always keep the old plugs you take out and see if someone can do a refurbishment job on them. But like I said, I don't have experience with that kinda stuff.
Also, rotted out vacuum lines (vacuum leaks) and other ignition parts in decline are just as likely to be causing the problems you are experiencing on a car that old.

Thanks so much. You answered my question in that I can still get Acdelco plugs. I'm not so concerned if they are the same manufacture. I will keep the old ones just because. Thanks also for the additional tips.
