Re: valve spring?
it is advised to not going over .480 valve lift on stock heads.
Also I have read about the press in studs pulling out of the stock heads. I am not sure if it has been said that stronger springs contribute to that or not.

Re: valve spring?
I'm using the LT4 springs, Price was great. My machinist is having a fit with them though! They are 1.34 base diameter. Requires re machining the valve seat in the head. I'll let you know how they work when I get them back.
Re: valve spring?
Someone mentioned not exceed .480. I don't believe stock heads will clear that much. My heads were from a 95 van and need to be machined it is possible but will cost. I wish I could remember their stock clearance. Best way is to find the exact clearance with a dial indicater and then use one of the calculators online. From there remove the spring reinstall the retainer and measure your clearance allow at least .020 extra. I had mine machined to clear .050 and ran .480 lift. Buy the spring to match your lift, it should also provide some rev limit information.
