another rough runner

so the history...83 305 topped with a rochester qjet. it has recently had new plugs wires, rotor, cap, fuel pump and filter.
i drove the car to work the other day running great, i parked it and shut it down like normal. a buddy showed up and wanted to see it and hear it run so i started it and it idled for about five minutes or so. shut it down again. about three hours later i came out after work and went to drive home, the car ran rough and lacked power along with the engine slightly rocking side to side as if a cylinder was not firing. i have checked timing, which seems to be fine, the vacuum is pulling 15in hg, and also it smells like i have raw gas coming from the tailpipe. i changed the rotor yesterday and it ran good for about ten minutes before it stalled out and began all over again. just now i cant get it to run smoothly like it used to or with any power. does anyone have a suggestion? any help would be greatly appreciated. i also did a little researcha and a haynes manual says that the egr may have something to do with running rough, can anyone confirm this? at the time my egr had no vacuum running to it

Re: another rough runner

Did it get new spark plugs with the wires? I would pull the plugs and look at them. Any that are off color from the rest are the cylinders that I would run a compression check on.
