Cleaning Injectors?

My 305TPI has a rough idle when it starts cold but i've pretty much done everything for a tune up except the injectors. I found out a new Injector cost $115 and multiply that by 8 which means its not happening. Is there a way i can rebuild or clean them myself?

Re: Cleaning Injectors?

There are three way you can go about doing this.

1. Fuel tank additive (DIY).
2. Cleaning through the fuel rail with "special" equipment (DIY if you want to purchase the cleaning tank and an air compressor).
3. Removing the injectors and sending them to an injector service place like FIC or South Bay (Semi-DIY if you R&R the injectors yourself).

Re: Cleaning Injectors?

Please! Do not spend that kind of money if you don't have to......if your injectors are stock, at the risk of having this post sound like a sales pitch, do yourself a favor and replace them with a set of bosch lll's. Get them from us or any other company. The stock injectors will cause you more problems than you need, besides, i can almost guarantee that if you use a fuel additive on these particular injectors, it may not work at all especially if your coils are shot, if it does work then it is more than likely to be a temporary fix. We wouldn't sell them as "rebuilt" if someone gave them to us for free! Whatever you decide to do, just know that we offer 10% off for all tgo members. Good luck!

Re: Cleaning Injectors?

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY CLEANING MULTECS

THE COILS INSIDE SHORT OUT,CLEANERS WONT FIX THAT.

THE ONLY GOOD MULTEC IS ONE IN MID-FLIGHT TO A DUMPSTER.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LOOK ON EBAY (or there websites) AND BUY A SET OF BOSCH FROM "FIC" OR "SOUTHBAY" SHOULD RUN U UNDER $200 ( my bosch 2's cost me $150 shipped and were flow matched and had a warranty)

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK
