Switching from synthetic engine oil to regular engine oil??

Hello, I have a small block in my camaro. The motor was rebuilt a few years back and since day one I have been using synthetic engine oil. Well it seems I now have a leak at the rear engine seal. So at this point I'm not ready to fix the leak, I just want to change the oil out for new oil and thought that I might just use regular engine oil like castrol 10w30 instead of the full synthetic. Will changing from synthetic to regular engine oil hurt the engine? Or is it okay to do this? Thanks in advance

no it won't hurt at all

www.amazon.com and look for White Shepherd Rear Main Sealer

it's $12 and might stop that rear main leak

Other than wearing more because you're using conventional oil rather than synthetic (assuming it's a quality synthetic to start with), no.

Perfectly valid thing to do. No problem.

2 easy steps:

1. Drain old oil (incl filter)

2. Pour in new (incl pour a quart into new filter before putting on)

There, not so challenging, was it?
