Shifter linkage adjustment.

When I put my car in park it doesn't completely lock into park,
I need to know how to adjust the shifter cable to allow me to put my car fully into park?

Re: Shifter linkage adjustment.

There is no adjustment on the shifter cable - either something is wrong at the shifter plate (like the safety button not pushing down far enough to clear the safety stop) or you need a new shifter cable.
