Fuel pump volts on scanner
Fuel pump volts on scanner
I replaced the ICM, and the car started right up. I let it idle and went inside, and when I cam out about 15 minutes later, the car was not runnning.
Now, I cannot get it to start.
I have a scanner, and I noticed the fuel pump volts appears to be only indicating when I engage the starter. Should I have fuel pump volts with the key in the on position?
Any other suggestions?

Re: Fuel pump volts on scanner
The fuel pump will prime when you first turn the key, the pump will then continue to run once the engine is running, if the engine isnt running there won't be voltage to the pump since there is no need for it to run when the engine not running. Check your basics, make sure you have spark while cranking, make sure there is fuel pressure while cranking. Obviously it most likely is getting air and still has compression and timing is at least close since it was just running so check first for spark and once you verify spark is present check for fuel pressure while cranking.
