Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 5 Speed
lifter helllllllllpppppp.

Just picked up 87 iroc 305 tpi w/ 5 speed trannie... While doing other work I decided to replace a few lifters. Here's the problem when I gi to order the parts two different kinds are,showing up. One says,hydraulic roller lifters and the other just say roller lifters is there a difference between the two don't want to buy wrong ones... Thanks for the help...

Just get a new set of LS7 lifters. The price is a virtual steal, and they're a direct fit. By the way, '87-up SBC cars are hydraulic roller, SBC trucks were just hydraulic until '96.

Somewhat true. I got a 87+ engine which has provisions for both roller and flat tappit lifters/cam.

No, totally true. All the SBC blocks, '87-up, have provisions for the roller lifters, even when non-roller lifters got installed.

I think this is getting nowhere. I agree trucks had flat tappit. I also agree that 87 and up Camaro's had rollers. It just depends on the vehicle.
