no spark

i have a 1988 iroc tpi 5.7ltr this morning i turned my car on, and as i was warming it up all of a sudden it turned off, i tried turning it on again and nothing. so i check for spark and ZERO spark at the coil. ok so i buy a coil, ignition module and still no spark. next day i say screw it im buying a rema dist. as i was taking off the old dist. i noticed that the pick up coil was all broken. so i figured that would be the problem so the dist i bought came with everything from the ignition module to the coil pick up. i install new distributor, and still no spark. so im going crazy trouble shooting this. i really appreciate any feedback. thanks for the help in advance. pls email me as im using my neighbors computer, but i have an android phone which i receive email. saldav420@gmail.com

Re: no spark

agree with vetteoz, check for power at the coil, then try wiggling the connector on the coil why trying to start. I had an intermittent stall/no start on a fireturd that ended up being the terminals were loose in the two-wire coil connector.

Re: no spark

The two wire plug that plugs into the ignition module from the coil, unplug it, turn the key on, you should get 12 volts at both terminals.
