Stalling & Raw Fuel Smell?
Hello Third Gen Friends,
I have a 1990 IROC (305/TPI/Manual Trans/194,000 miles). I drove the car around all morning running fine. The engine stalled right after start up after sitting for a couple hours. It took about 5 cranks and about 100 yards to get the car running.
It does throw out some white smoke after sitting for a while. (5-10) seconds
I recently replaced the 02 sensor (Delco) and the car passed smog.
I have the common code 32 error (EGR) every time I drive.
I can smell raw fuel coming from the exhaust.
Please help with any type of driveway diagnosis and parts replacement.
Thanks.

Re: Stalling & Raw Fuel Smell?
if the white smoke from the tail pipe has a strong smell of gasoline, its raw fuel being vaporized in the exhaust.
look for leaking fuel injectors or fuel pressure regulator.
first thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator. it not uncommon for them to leak fuel into the intake.
any signs of liquid fuel in the vacuum hose is a sure sign its bad.
