500 RWHP advice
Hi!
I am about to upgrade my engine this winter.
I am going for a new 383 block,and use my old,heads and intake(in sig).
What i need is some advice of pistons, cam, comp ratio, injectors and so on.
I am going to add 100 shot of nos, goal is a total of aprox 550-600 RWHP including 100 hp noz.
The car is not going to be street legal.
Thanks
Anders

Re: 500 RWHP advice
Sorry, I assumed from your signature that you were putting down 365 hp and running 11.8 naturally aspirated.
If you do the right stuff to the car to make it leave with about a 1.50 60' time, 425 rwhp is about what it takes to run 11.2 in your (3750 lb?) car.
If it's not required to be street legal and you remove equipment to save weight, it can be done with a lot less power.
It sounds to me like your car isn't tuned very well to be putting down only 365 rw with a 75 shot, so naming parts to use on another engine build won't help you much.

Hit it with 150-200hp of nos. You will get there! As a matter of fact I bet you might even beat your goals.

Yeah, you can just hit it with more spray. single nozzle kit I wouldnt spray more than a 175 shot, and with a plate kit, probably same...maybe stretch a 200 hit out of it but after that, i'd be worried about distribution. Direct kits are for 200+ shots.
But 365whp with lt4 hotcam aint bad. You can get another 30-40whp in a bigger cam swap with intake porting tho. That will get you from 12.3 on motor down into the high 11's on motor with a 383, and then spray 100 shot to get near 11.0's, possibly high 10's.
You can order a custom comp cam with my old cam specs for that combination. I had same AFR 195 heads but with their upgrade spring and mildly ported HSR intake. 383" cubes, ran 11.4's on motor alone, 400whp. PM me for specs/cam card/spring specs
I would advise atleast a 3.5" catback or just put on cutouts on each header. Also would advise 4000 stall since this doesnt have to be street legal.
