power loss!
ok granted i didnt have much power to begin with (lg4) but heres the background info..a while back i cut off the cat because it seemed as though the car was running really restricted (more than normal) and seemed like the cat was clogged..sure enough half of it was broken into large chunks( the other half of the honeycomb was intact). well i put the cat back on to muffle the sound a bit since i dont have a muffler yet and the intact half of the cat looked like it would stay intact. it ran fine for about a month till this week..now my acceleration is way down and it feels really restricted..not too mention the sound is more muffled than before..anyone have any ideas other than the cat is clogged again? id like to just take it off but dont have the resources yet to get the exhaust replaced..but i will if that is the problem since im not a big fan of the motor blowing up.

Re: power loss!
Well, sounds like you suspect the answer - drop the cat off again and find out! Or first quickly verify - get a vac gauge into the intake manifold, see if the idle reading starts off high and slowly falls permanently low.
