overheating. stumbled

bare whit me plz....my car runs nice, dint have no overheating issues. then one day my fan stopped working. i cought the tempature gauge going up. so i pulled over asap. found out the fan was not turning on.(have it direct to a switch). luckily i was close by my house. it was a wire that fried. so i fixed it. let the car idle for a while to see the temp guage, everything was back in order. then i take off and the temp gauge starts going up. had to go back home. the car does not overheat at idle at all. but once i take of the temp gauge starts going up slowly, but going up till red. i changed the radiator cap(since i saw bubbles on reserve coolant.no more bubbles. took off the water pump.(the water pump looked super rusted but the blades and mechanism still worked fine.) put fresh gaskets and put it back in. took the thermostat out. dont know what the problem is.no water in my oil.or transmission oil. one thing i notice is my radiatior fins got smashed by a bolt in middle of fan. but real small dent. and i could feel preassure on the upper coolant hose. but i cant feel coolant going thru their. no surge u could say. any ideas would be apriciated

Put a new thermostat back in. Believe it or not, no thermostat will run hotter than a proper thermostat.
