How can i tell if there a 350 in my car
Well i saw this car on craigslist, the guy says that it has a 350 tpi in it and a rebuilt transmission. I was just wondering is there specific things i should look for signs that hes not just bsing me. 88 T/A

vin number would tell what came in there originally, but may not be correct if its ever been replaced (not uncommon on a 15+ yr old car).
there should be casting numbers on the driver side rear of the engine, right near the head. grab the numbers and we can take a look for ya

Casting numbers are good to determine if it's a 305 or 350 block. Ask for a picture of them. Suffix codes on the pad in front of the passenger side head can tell a lot more information about the engine. There's also a partial vin code there so you'll know if the engine is original or not.
Too many people have purchased a car with a "350" in it only to find it's really just a 305. Just looking at the engine, you can't tell. That's why you need all the numbers.
