Gen 1 327
Gen 1 327
I was wondering how much horsepower this combination would be? Just an estimate would be fine. This is what I know of the motor. 327 bored 60 over flat top pistons. Iron eagle crank, complete roller motor. 300 adv during lift solid lift roller cam phase 6 luminum angle plug bowtie heads 14011048. Aluminum holley high rise strip dominator intake. 650 Holley double Pumper. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Gen 1 327
You need more compression than that to work with that cam, heads and intake combo. With flattop pistons you'll be in the 9s somewhere. A cam that big is likely to want mid 10s at least (domed pistons).

Doesn't sound like a very good street engine. And since its only a 327 I'm not really sure how well it would work for racing either.

Re: Gen 1 327
Agreed; not a good combo. Too little compression for racing, too much cam for the street. Personally I wouldn't pay the money for it that is probably being asked, unless I already had a buyer lined up for the undersized non-competitive short block. That's the worst part. The cam might be OK, and the heads while long obsolete are still at least decent; but the lack of CID or compression would HAVE TO go.
