best bolt ons for a l03?

I just recently traded my 00 mustang v6 for a 91 rs camaro (rebuilt 305/ auto trans) and was wondering what's the common bolt on mods for the old l03 (no I don't want to just put a 350 in it the l03 is very fresh and all stock. Minus brand new flowmaster exhaust manifold back) I've seen that most people put lt1 cams in it but don't know what else is common bolt ons

not a whole lot you can do for the lowly l03. best thing you can do is done which is the new exhaust. other than that you can swap to better heads and cam. its not worth upgrading the cam with those junk swirl port heads.

you say manifold back exhaust, which means stock manifolds, if thats the case get some headers.

Any type of better air intake is a good place to start, then you'll get more out of the more major mods

I realize you probably hate hearing the common saying "oh just put a 350 in there", but like Travis stated, there really isn't much you can do with the TBI 305 setup. That's what I had in my 89 RS originally, and I gotta say you absolutely can't beat the TBI motor for reliability. Mine had 253,000 on it when I pulled it, and it still ran damn good. Problem is, from a performance standpoint, they truly suck! You can swap in a TBI 350 setup and you'll see some improvement, but if you want to stick with the 305, changing over to a TPI system is the best way to go. The stock TBI computers are a nightmare to try and tune for any mods. Even just swapping in an LT1 cam usually throws the stock computer into fits. Everybody and their dog offers chip tuning services for TPI setups, and you just pluck the PROM out of the computer to have any work done to it. It's basically soldered in there on the TBI computers. You can go to the TBI forum on here to see what others have done to improve their performance, but most mods are costly and a PITA. With my stock TBI motor I got sick of having my a-s-s handed to me by basically moms in a stock, grocery-getter type car! Lol. I swapped to a TPI 350 and it opened up a whole world of possibilities for improving performance. However, if you insist on sticking with the TBI 305, as suggested above, putting on decent headers and running a 3 inch catback exhaust system helps a lot. The stock exhaust system on the TBI cars is pathetically small. That's what I did to the exhaust on mine. Hooker 2055's are probably one of the best header sets out there, but you could also run a set of the Edelbrock TES headers. They're a bit cheaper than the Hookers, and work pretty good on a TBI car. Stay FAR away from Flowtech or Dynomax brand headers. They have really small primary tubes and probably flow about the same as the puny stock exhaust manifolds. The other simple mod that helps immensely is putting better gears in the rear. I swapped mine from the stock 2.73's to the 3.42 ratio, and that also made a huge difference in acceleration. Btw, even though they're usually drum brake and non-posi, it's a piece of cake to get a 3.42 rearend out of the 6 cylinder f-bodies in the junkyard. Most of the 6 cylinder cars got either 3.23 or 3.42 gears. Even 3.23 is a vast improvement over 2.73's! If the parts sticker is still in the console glovebox on the junkyard cars, look for code GU5 (3.23) or code GU6 (3.42). If you happen to spot code G80 on the sticker, you're in luck and it's a posi.
