Hey guys, today I went out to fire up my 85z to warm up so I could go to work, and it was/is running really rough and idling up and down, and it was running rich as hell. It drives down the road just fine sometimes, and sometimes it cuts out randomly and the whole car shakes, almost like a miss. When ever i stop at all it dies randomly. About a month ago I was having the same issue, and it threw a ECM/PROM code, so I pulled the computer out of it and checked the PROM and everything was ok, so I plugged it back in and everything has been ok sense. I put a new ICM in it back in FEB, a Hayden fan controller and a new CTS for the gauge last weekend. Any ideas?

 

injectors !!! You should do a upgrade to the 1227165 ecm. I hate that 1226870 nothing but trouble.

 

What makes you so sure of injectors? Its hard for me to put goodies on the car sense its my DD. I forgot to add that the SES light flashes really fast most of the time, and other times it stays on solid.

 

what codes are you getting?

sounds like your in LHM, you may still have a bad ecm ! If you need me to burn you a eprom let me know.

 

I think i'm going to do the ECM swap. what will you charge me to burn an EPROM?
