Fuel Pump=Dead :(

OK. I am about 99% certain that my fuel pump is dead. I did everything my shop manual said and I keep coming up with dead fuel pump. So before I drop the tank I have a few questions. I NEVER want to have to replace this part again. What is a good brand to use? While im in there should I replace the stock pump with a higher flowing pump for future upgrades? If so which one? Do I even have to drop the tank, can I use an inline fuel pump?

Bump.. You will have to drop the tank, unless there is a trap door someone cut out inside the rear hatch under carpet. You will be able to feel it through the carpet. As far as parts go, you should be able to find many threads on the fuel pump. If you can't I will post some on your threat for you. I would give you info but my mechanic changed mine. Good luck

Re: Fuel Pump=Dead :(

Thanks so much. I really don't wanna start cutting up the car Im just gonna go ahead and drop the axle and such. I did a search but I wasn't able to find what im looking for. Im curious as to whether I can put in a TPI or LS1 pump in without damaging anything. I do plan on doing an engine swap sometime in the near future. I really want the fuel pump to support the power upgrades. Would I have to replace the lines also? I think that the regulator would just cycle the extra fuel back into the tank correct?

Here is a thread about fuel and regarding heat. There is 5 pages but there is also some good picture's and info on fuel pumps. Its a good read, and you might find what your looking for. And another one with fuel pump picture's.
Both good reads
