quick ignition coil question

Hey guys, so i wanted to replace my coil while doin a tune up and noticed the stock one has the mounts ruveted to it. I checked all the replacement coils and none of them come with a mount so do i really have to find a way to drill the rivets out and find some thin bolts or can i buy one somewhere? Hope yall know what im talkin about and its a 90 camaro 305 tbi

You will have to use a flathead screwdriver and or a chisel and hammer to break them free. I did mine in only a few minutes.

Correct. Chisel the heads off or drill them off- whatever floats your boat. The old rivets come out and your replace them with either new rivets (commonly available pop rivet guns usually come with an assortment) or you replace them with an appropriate nut and bolt combo. I like using nuts and bolts becuase you can remove them any time you want after that.

Re: quick ignition coil question

my preferred method is to cut the rivets off with a chisel on both ends and pry the brackets off the old coil.
the replacement coil should come with nuts and bolts.
