no spark, no injector pulse
The car is a 92 350 tpi. Has been sitting for ~4 years tank full of rust. Cleaned it out replaced fuel pump. It works, it has pressure.
At first the spark to the plugs was intermittent. But spark from the coil was nice and blue. I opened the distributor and everything was as corroded as inside the tank. Bought a cardone (I know, I know) reman dizzy from vato zone stabbed it in and then the spark to the plugs became constant but a weak orange color. Then out of no where, no spark at all. Swapped in a known working coil with no spark coming from the coil wire.
Voltage on the pink wire to the coil is ~11 during cranking its around ~8. Also want to note that the tach is not moving with key in or during cranking. Fuses good ses light functioning code 12 etc etc
Is it possible I got a junk dizzy from the store or do I have the rare case of a tach grounding out the ignition? How can I check? Am I on the right track or is it something else?

sounds like a ignition coil module or the pickup coil.

Re: no spark, no injector pulse
Would either of the two cause no signal to the tach? Funny thing about this dizzy is they give a crappy icm with a sticker warning not to remove or it voids the warranty

Re: no spark, no injector pulse
yes, it would cause no tach signal. would pull the distributor and do them both. I got bit bye that snake before. Replace a bad icm and a week later the pickup coil went out. The icm sends a signal to the ecm to fire the injectors as well.

Re: no spark, no injector pulse
I was wondering if the pick up coil and icm fixed the problem

A new dizzy fixed it so I'm not sure if it was the icm or pick up coil.
