Re: turns off while slowing to a stop

Idk about the high idling, but you should look into maybe your fuel lines etc. Mine were severely clogged, and would idile rough and die a lot when I got off the gas. New pump new lines and completely cleaned tbi and injectors completely fixed it. Gonna be different on tpi but same idea. But then again it could be something completely different idk.

Re: turns off while slowing to a stop

check the o2 sensor on the drivers side exhaust manifold/header. I would always have to let the car warm up way past closed loop to heat it up enough. It revs up then idles real low because the ecm keeps getting a different temp reading from the junk sensor. Other times I would have to drive 3 footed part of my foot on brake and gas and other on the clutch pedal to keep it running at stop lights. Replace the sensor, I'm sure it will help some.
