400 heads worth anything?

400 heads worth anything?

i have a set of 1970s 400 heads im going to sell for scrap.i thought id make sure they aren't worth anything.ive heard nothing but bad things....

Not really. They're the same as typical factory 350 heads of that vintage, they just have steam holes drilled in them.

Totally agreed... most stock 400 heads were the ultimate garbage. Nothing whatsoever to distinguish them from any of the other garbage of the day.

Post the casting #s and we can tell you for sure, in case somebody has swapped them out at some point. Speaking strictly for myself, I put 186 double-humps on several 400s back in the 70s, including one belonging to the lady who is now my wife; lots of stuff has happened to some of those motors in the last 35 - 40 years.
