265 tpi?!

I know many people have asked about a 283 tpi and how it would be a good build cause it would let it breath, my question is what if you did a 265?! I think it could really hit some rpms! i know tpi was built for torque but im sure you could make a bit of hp with it.

Re: 265 tpi?!

Cause back in the old days they had these with 240hp! i would think that with newer tech we could do even better!

Re: 265 tpi?!

I'm at a loss with respect to what it is that you are asking.

Are you asking about a 1st gen SBC with overhead valves and how to make the most normally apsirated power........if so, displacement

If you are just engaging in conversation about streetable NA horsepower then overhead cams with variable timing, direct injection

Re: 265 tpi?!

I am just seeing what would happen yes i agree there is no replacement for displacement but if you put a 400+ motor behind a tpi you will launch off the line but something that has really good rpms will catch you. and 240hp is what the 350 had stock now if you get a motor with that and update it to new stuff i think it could create more. but i could be wrong thats why im on here haha honestly im just seein what would be different what no one else has asked and if it works i will do it cause im lookin for a project anyway

Plenty of people have, but nobody really wants to anymore. Again, I see over 7000-RPM's w/my 305 TPI, it is just a matter of siamesing the system and selecting a cam with the right duration and lift to take advantage of it...
