Anybody donored a "good" 4th gen?

Is it even an acceptable thing to do? Anybody got a good (not wrecked or salvaged) 4th gen just to harvest drive train etc for his/her 3rd gen project? I'd have a hard time taking a torch to a solid car even if I got it for cheap
The reason I am asking is I see quite a few LT1s and even some LS1s with not too much miles that go for around $3K and I don't see that many engine pulls that go for alot less then $1.5K even LT1s. I know I know, it's considered to be "too much", but I was looking around for few month just for sh'ts and giggles and couldn't find a donor for under $1600 (LT1 with auto) and no pull-outs for "acceptable" price.

I personally only like 4th gen transams, would never harvest drive train from one, even if it had body damage unless it's totally gone. I think GM did alot better job with Pontiac. It's a shame they scrapped it. LT1 camaros don't look too good IMO, but still.... although LT1 swapped thirdgen would probably sell for 3 times as much as it's donor.

There's a guy not too far though that wants 1800 for LT1 with 90K and small ding in a passenger door. Another guy with LS1 wants 2800 for the whole thing with no interrior, but general consensus here that it's too high.

well the general consensus here is that if it's not free it's too expensive...

depending on miles and what "no interior" really means (condition and completeness of the rest of the car) 2800 isn't bad, take what you want and sell the shell for a racecar roller

That's is exactly my state of mind. And that's what I'll do..... as soon as I get a hold of that guy.

Here you go. It's not LS1 though. That guy sold it before I could get to him.
This one is 93 LT1 auto with 93K miles. $1200.

Happends all the time, the drivetrain in 4th gens are very wanted in our hobby. LSX are being swapped into almost everything.

Would I take apart a completly fine fourth gen for a swap? Hell yea. If the price is right. You can part those cars and keep the drivetrain and still make/save alot of money.

Why not.

Took me a while to find this one, believe it or not - it's from fleebay!! Interrior is a gonner and paint is baad on ithis one. Passenger side damage pretty much killed it. Rocker pannel caved in and the door ad both fenders damaged as well. One thing for sure, I will not have second thoughts yanking engine and rear end for my 92. This one deffinetly a gonner
