hey guys my car threw code 34 which is the map/maf sensor code(87 iroc l98) and when i inspected my maf sensor the gasket around the bottom had come off(it threw the code in the pissing rain when i was on the highway)so i figured sweet thats what the problem is and replaced it and right after i replaced it it ran great then i go to start it two days later and it starts but wont stay running enlse i keep the rpms up(above 2000rpm) does anyone have any ideas?map sensor?i really have no idea i thought the problem was fixed.the car has been sitting for almost 3 months bad gas maybe? if anyone has any ideas please post i got a day pass on the car today and its just wasting away

Try to clear the codes, try to get it to run again & see if it throws any codes.
See if it runs better if you temporarilty unplug the maf sensor.
Test the tps & make sure the egr valve is not getting vacuum at idle (or just unplug the hose).

ya i cleared the code and took it for a spin and it threw the same code again(code 34)and it defeniatly runs worse with it unplugged. it runs and even idles when it throws the code but just very rough and the rpms jump and fall alot

Attached is some info about code 34. Take special note of car throwing code 34 when MAF is disconnected (wiring or ecm problem).
Pretty sure you don't have a MAP sensor.
Check the top two wires of your TPS, it should be at .54V at idle.
Check the resistance of all the injectors, should be around 16 ohms.
Check the fuel pressure, should be 42-47#.
