3.1 idle problem
3.1 idle problem
Hi all Merry Christmas
I have a 92 Sunbird that I am tring to get running for my kids. The problem is starting to get to me. It will run great when its cold, idles great has lots of power ect. After it warms up it has a low idle speed, wants to die out, and has very little power. At stop signs it will kill, needs to have the gas pedel floored to start and wants to die. I replaced the IAC unit with a new one but it didnt help. After Christmas I will try to check fuel pressure but in the mean time is thier anything else to check or try? No check engine lights are on.

I'd test the coolant temp sensor, remove the sensor to test it, you'll need an ohm meter, thermometer, & a pot of water that you can heat up. The sensors resistence changes as the temp changes. Google GM coolant temp sensor resistence for the values.
Check the ground wires, esp. the ones near the bellhousing.
