fuel pumps

I have a 91 camaro z/28 its a 305 oem injectors, high flow exhaust, tbi spacer plate, and an oem fuel pump so now leads to the question i want to upgrade my fuel pump to a performance fuel pump and was wondering if it would be worth it or what all i would have to upgrade with that as well or if it would pose major issues like destroying my engine assuming thats all im putting in no other upgrades or mods. the stock one only cranks out about 13psi any information or opinions would be greatly accepted

Re: fuel pumps

Once your injectors hit max duty cycle, and you can no longer maintain your desired Air Fuel Ratio (as monitored by a wideband O2 sensor) when you are at your maximum engine RPM at WOT, then it's time to upgrade the fuel pump,

- or if you are near this limit and plan on adding more fuel delivery for a power-adder such as a nitrous system,

- or if your pump fails,

then it's time to upgrade the fuel pump.

This would probably be best posted in the TBI section.

Re: fuel pumps

with the limited mods you have on the vehicle so far, a fuel pump really won't make much of a performance difference. unless yours is dead or failing, you'd probably be better off spending money elsewhere before upgrading the fuel pump
