4/7 swap

Just wondering what you guys think about the 4/7 swap on the camshaft and plug wires, I know it is suppose to help with the harmonics of the engine. Id just like to know what everyone else thinks, soon planning on rebuilding a 400 sbc 2 bolt main. thanks

In the grand scheme of things, it's a drop in the ocean.

Concentrate your money and efforts on things with serious payoff, like ... heads.

Re: 4/7 swap

The price of 4/7 cams have come down a lot making them more desirable. That's all I use in my race engine now. The nicest part is how the plug wires line up on the distributor.

Chances are if you had a regular firing order cam in the engine, made some dyno pulls then swapped it out for an identical grind but a 4/7 cam, you probably won't see any difference in performance.
