throttle cable snapped

Car: 1985 Camaro IROC-Z
Engine: 305 w/ 4 barrel carb
Transmission: brand new 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.73
throttle cable snapped

so i was trying to crank my car up to go home and my throttle cable snapped. im getting a new one today. is it as easy as feeding it through the cable housing to my kickdown cable, then attaching it to my gas pedal, or do i have to adjust it and do this and that. need to know soon as this car is my DD

Yeah, it's not all that tough. If you buy a stock replacement it should line up exactly the same as the original did. There is no "adjustment" in the stock cable. They are built to certain specific measurement specs. If you find it doesn't line up the same then you either had the wrong cable on it before or the wrong cable going on it now.
