Stock 91 5.7 liter TPI Rebuild List
At some point I am going to rebuild the engine in my 91 Z28. It's powered by a 5.7 liter TPI. What I am wondering is, what is the best set of stock rebuild parts?
You may ask if I am capable of rebuilding then I must be capable of finding the right parts. Truth of the matter is I'll be having the engine rebuilt by family members and will need to acquire the parts to hand to them.
So, I need to know what are the best parts to build it back to stock. Not looking for increased performance.
Crank (bearings, etc.)
Cam
Rods
The works...
I'll have the engine block and heads done at a machine shop before hand...
Thanks!

well if you are going to rebuild the engine with just stock parts, just buy OEM stock parts. Stock cam, stock pistons, stock connecting rods, ect.
Honestly, my opinion is if your going to rebuild it rebuild it so its BETTER than stock. You dont have to do anything crazy to it, but maybe some head work and a lighterweight crankshaft, stuff like that. A lighter crankshaft isnt going to improve your engines horsepower or torque, but because its lighter it'll seem a little more powerful and responsive. Theres alot of people that would love to have your car and/or your engine, its capable of making alot of power!

Well I wouldn't be opposed to doing that but how would I know what is the correct combination of parts to acquire? If there was like a "performance set" that included everything for the rebuild it would be a lot easier.
