Flywheel cover missing
I did a search and found some info on this, but not a clear answer. My flywheel cover is missing. It seems like an important part to keep the stuff out, but one thread said it was not neccessary. Where can I find a replacement and how hard is the install? (350 V8-Automatic).
Thanks

Re: Flywheel cover missing
A replacement is not hard to install. Safely lift and jack stand the vehicle and bolt the replacement in. I have found several at Pick-N-Pull or U-Pull-It both in plastic or metal. It has to match your transmission model. I have a 700R4 so I had to look for vehicles with that transmission. Good Luck.

Re: Flywheel cover missing
ive run alot of them over the years without this pan install and never any issue
some ppl claim its a big deal and others have no issue
i have no issue
if you cna find one then cool, if not then its not a big deal, imho
theres tin ones and theres plastic ones
tin ones tended to be ealrty 80s and earlier
plastic ones tended to be mid 80s and up
give or take a few years
i just tossed a plastic one from an '83 305 700r4 caprice
i have a tin one thats a little bit older years but also fits works fine
you can take form 2wd trucks, and caprices and f bodies and g bodies
pretty much any gm car with chevy sb engine and 700r4 late 70s to mid 80s
