Just traded cars. L98 mod advice needed pics inside!
I had a 2000 SS project car really that I considered junking for a LS swapped 3rd gen well I traded with my friend today after he bought a excellent looking 89 Iroc L98 car for 5k. I traded my SS and 1k for it. We're going to the dmv tuesday and the Iroc is at my house. Its got 107k and I honestly don't think it could be any more immaculate without being completely redone. Its bone stock minus two k and n filters what should my first mods be and what do you think about the trade. I don't want to go crazy this will be my DD. I just want a nice sounding/running car. I've got a set of shorty headers for a carbed car if they'll fit? they're hedman I believe. What do you guys think?

The L98 is a great engine, its very poweerful stock and can be made quite a bit more powerful with a few fairly minor and relativly inexpensive mods.
People wil argue about a few of these things, but heres my list of mods:
K&N's
Headers/ exhaust upgrade (I have shorty headers, y-pipe +cat back=dual 3in tips
Shift kit
Cut screens out of MAF
Throttle Body Air Foil
Drilled & slotted rotors
Suspension upgrades
Energy suspension bushings
Strut tower brace
Oil catch can
8mm plug wires
Brass terminal cap/rotor
- A fuel pressure regulator is a great investment too, i dont have one yet tho.
- Some people say subframe connectors are a good investment too. I dont have them yet, so i cant say one way or another.
- Id like to get an aluminum driveshaft too. Huge gain to be found there.
There are things ive left out too im sure, someone will add them.
My car went from very fast to WICKED fast, its an adrenaline rush to drive anywhere. I love the amount of torque its got, and its from only bolt on parts, no rebuild. Nobody tries to race me in their Honda's!
