Smog pump delete
I believe my smog pump might be going out. I have started to have a bad sound coming from either my air compressor or smog pump. But dont honestly know. I just know it varies with the speed of the engine. My big question is after i get it off, will i have to plug anything, or can i just pull it right off and just reroute the belt? And would anyone have a belt number i would use? I have looked through out the forums for other posts, but didnt know if i would have to plug something after it comes off. o.O

You might check the Catalytic converter first. If you remove the air pump, just be sure emissions won't be an issue.

Re: Smog pump delete
you need to seal where the air lines go into the exh manifolds
rubber cap on the one way valves or remove the valve altogether and use a pipe cap on the threaded pipe fitting
remove line to cat and seal cat pipe

Re: Smog pump delete
thanks for help.
and to help define that its really the smog pump, its rather loud on a cold start, but after a min or 2 its not a loud, but still the sound still changes with the speed of the engine.

Re: Smog pump delete
So my AIR pump went bad and I removed it. Do I have to remove anything or block off anything like the pipe attached to the pump? I just want to get it running for the time being. I will strip everything off later.
