Buying new 3rd gen. Help?

Hey, I am looking into buying a 1991 Camaro Z28 for $3,000 for my first car. It has 91,000 miles, and is in very good shape. I was wondering if these cars are good for first cars, and what were common problems were common in 1991 that I can look for on the car? Any info on this year would be appreciated. It is the 5.0 liter v8 also, if that helps to give any information.

The most common problem with them as a first car is insurance premiums.

It's a decent engine, reasonable balance of power and economy. Your best bet is to focus on the economy part for a few years.

Two exhaust systems were offered, single cat and dual cat. Dual cat is the much better system. But, if yours is single cat, see the paragraph above.
