hey third!! im new to the site and new to the f-body.
i have a question. i have a 89 gta and the prevoius owner in stalled a 160 degree thermo stat. he told me that the car wil run like **** when its cold or closed loop, or open loop. im confused??? can any1 help??

 

I'm sure he said open loop as that is what it is in until certain parameters are met such as temperature. In my opinion, these cars don't run well with 160 temp. They need to be up to at least 180 to be efficient and perform well.
